People with a hysterical personality type should not choose the profession of a pilot for themselves, since this psychotype is considered incompatible with such a job. "When selecting pilots, the candidate's personality type is taken into account. This allows you to identify weaknesses and strengths, possible risk factors, predict behavior in various contexts, and determine the conditions in which a candidate will be most effective or ineffective. For example, a hysterical psychotype is considered unsuitable for a pilot," she explained.

Verba also mentioned that various psychological tests are used during the selection of candidates, including the standardized personality research method (SMIL), which allows to identify various professional inclinations of the interviewee, as well as to understand the level of stress tolerance, identify overexertion and evaluate his personal qualities.

In addition to psychological research, many different factors are taken into account when selecting pilots, and cadets undergo medical and flight expert commissions. Even if the cadet has successfully completed everything except psychological testing, his candidacy will still be rejected.
