The investigation of the case of the American Tatera about the attack on a policeman has been completed

The investigation approved the indictment of US citizen Joseph Tater in the case of an attack on a police officer at the Radisson hotel in the capital, it follows on March 22 from documents at the disposal of TASS.

Thus, according to the investigation, Tater is guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("The use of violence, not dangerous to life or health, against a government official in connection with the performance of his official duties").

It is specified that the investigation sent the materials to the Meshchansky district court for further consideration.

Tater staged a brawl when checking into a hotel in the Meshchansky district after he was refused registration due to the lack of a migration card. Representatives of the hotel called the police, after the arrival of law enforcement officers, the American hit one of them.

Two days later, he was arrested for 15 days. A criminal case was opened against the man under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Since then, his detention has been extended several times.

On September 26, Tater's lawyer said that he had come to Russia for political asylum. According to the man, his life is in danger, so he wants to stay in Russia. It was clarified that for 18 years the American had been arrested by the CIA on false charges. It is also known that Tater stated in court that he does not consider himself a US citizen.
