Witkoff announced Zelensky's recognition of the impossibility of Ukraine joining NATO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of his office, Andriy Ermak, have largely acknowledged that Ukraine will not join NATO. US President Donald Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steven Witkoff, said this in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson on March 21.
"Zelensky and his right-hand man Yermak, I think they basically recognized that they (Ukraine. — Ed.) will not become a member of NATO," Witkoff said.
In addition, Trump's special envoy added that Ukraine cannot join the North Atlantic Alliance to conclude a peace agreement on the Ukrainian conflict.
According to him, the United States can provide Kiev with all the necessary support even without NATO membership.
Earlier, on March 20, Zelensky admitted that they did not want Ukraine to join NATO. According to him, the country's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance "would solve many problems," but the United States does not support Ukraine's membership in NATO.
On March 14, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that Ukraine's accession to the alliance was no longer on the agenda.
