The largest anti-government protests took place in the Slovak capital, which was attended by more than 10,000 people. This was announced on Friday, March 21, by the Slovak portal TV Noviny.

The actions were organized by the Peace to Ukraine initiative and the Democrats political party.

Protests took place in more than 30 cities under the slogan "Slovakia is Europe." The protests sharply criticized and demanded the resignation of the Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Robert Fico.

On March 20, Fico announced that Slovakia would not participate in the plan to raise funds for weapons for Ukraine. During a video message following the EU summit in Brussels, published on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia), he rejected the plan of the head of EU diplomacy Kai Kallas to finance weapons for Ukraine.
