- The political scientist pointed out the impossibility of Republika Srpska to influence the politics of BiH

The Republika Srpska currently has no way of resisting the established political order of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Political scientist Ivan Mezyuho shared this opinion with Izvestia on March 21.
Earlier that day, the President of Republika Srpska (RS), the entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, announced on the social network X that, in his opinion, it was necessary to reach a new agreement on the establishment of BiH or divide it peacefully. He also stressed that in the future, no decision of the central authorities of BiH should be implemented without the consent of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the entity.
"I think today we must state that Republika Srpska does not have enough forces to resist the current political system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The forces are really not equal," Mezyuho commented.
He noted that the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina related to political censorship of the Republika Srpska leadership should be viewed in the context of political turbulence in Serbia. The interlocutor drew attention to the fact that there is a simultaneous attempt to shake up the political situation in BiH and Serbia for a reason.
"Obviously, through Bosnia and Herzegovina, the deep state of the United States, represented by pro-democratic elites, is rocking the Middle East. National political elites need new wars, new crises and conflicts, which, on the one hand, will shake the established foundations in Europe, on the other hand, undermine the power of [US President] Donald Trump, because any crises and wars today can distract him from those grandiose plans to modernize, first of all, the domestic American economy. and the whole socio-political life," the expert explained.
So, he added, in this context, provocations in the Balkans are one of the best geographical areas where the situation "can explode like a powder keg." Mezyuho also pointed out that BiH is an amazing state entity, which is run by an "alien person", the supreme representative.
"It has long been clear that the High Representative [BiH Christian Schmidt] is guided not by the interests of local residents, but by the considerations and instructions he receives in the West directly from pro-democratic political elites. <...> Transnational elites intend to blow up the situation in the Balkans, realizing how shaky the world is there and that one lit match is enough to in order to organize a big war," the political scientist said.
Prior to that, on March 12, it was reported that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) had decided to detain the President and Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik and Radovan Viskovic.
On February 26, a court in Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Dodik to a year in prison in absentia and banned him from political activity for six years. This decision can be appealed.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called Dodik's sentence "an undisguised mockery of the foundations of the rule of law." The President of Republika Srpska, in turn, indicated that the autonomy would not take the verdict into account because it was based on the decision of Schmidt, a foreigner who had no legitimate authority without a UN appointment.
