A driver was killed in a bus accident in the Leningrad region.


A bus driver who rolled into a ditch was killed in an accident in the Volkhovsky district of the Leningrad region. This was announced on Friday, March 21, by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the region.
"Today at 18:50 on the 524 km Vologda – Tikhvin highway R-21 Cola, a 56-year—old driver, driving a Luidor bus, lost control and drove into a ditch," the agency said in a Telegram post.
It is specified that the driver died at the scene.
The injured minor passenger of the bus was hospitalized.
At the moment, investigative and operational measures are being carried out at the scene.
Earlier that day, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia informed Izvestia that 215 road accidents had occurred on Russian roads over the past day, in which 11 people were killed and 252 injured, eight of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles.
