Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin on Friday, March 21, reacted positively to the initiative of the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, on the possible holding of matches between players of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

"I was pleased to take the initiative of the two presidents to hold hockey matches between the national teams of the NHL and the KHL. This is the decision of two wise leaders who began to build and restore relations between the two great powers," the hockey player's team said in a statement on the Telegram channel.
