The Armenian authorities intend to hold a referendum on the adoption of a new constitution in 2027. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in an interview with Public Television on March 21.

"Constitutional amendments are on our agenda. It is scheduled for 2027," he said.

Pashinyan clarified that they want to hold constitutional processes in parallel with the parliamentary elections of 2026, in order to make the "political agenda more specific."

Earlier, on February 12, Ruslan Andreev, a political consultant and expert at the Polylogue Group, said that Pashinyan could spell out in large letters at the entrance to the Armenian parliament: "Armenia wants to join the EU." He can also follow the experience of other post-Soviet countries and even write this "wish list" into the constitution.
