Former French Prime Minister Philippe received a letter with death threats

On March 19, the mayor of the French city of Le Havre, former French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, received a letter with death threats and a spent shell casing. This is reported by the local newspaper Quest-France.
The letter was handed over to the police. It is indicated that, according to Le Havre prosecutor Suazique Guillaume, the reason for the threats against the politician was that he announced plans to participate in the French presidential election in 2026.
It is noted that the former prime minister had already received a threatening letter in March 2023. There was also a white powder in the envelope, which turned out to be safe after verification.
Earlier, in February, a member of the Bundestag from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Yevgeny Schmidt, told Izvestia that he had received seven threatening emails from Ukrainian domains. He added that he almost immediately filed a police report, where he was told about another parliamentarian from the AFD with the same problem.
