The United Nations has called on Hungary to review a draft law that bans LGBT parades (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist in Russia) in the country.

A corresponding statement by the High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk appeared on the organization's website.

"The head of the UN Human Rights Office, Volker Turk, calls on the Hungarian authorities to repeal this law and other legislative acts that discriminate against LGBTIQ+ representatives (the movement is banned in the Russian Federation, the organization's activities are recognized as extremist)," RT quotes the message.

On March 18, the Hungarian parliament passed a bill banning LGBT parades in the country.

Earlier, on January 25, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced that he intends to consolidate in the Constitution of the republic the provision on the recognition of only two sexes - male and female.
