Police in Germany conducted searches on suspicion of smuggling weapons from Ukraine

German law enforcement officers conducted searches as part of an investigation into two men suspected of smuggling military weapons from the conflict zone in Ukraine. This was reported on the website of the Delmenhorst city police on March 21.

"The men, aged 28 and 45, are suspected of using humanitarian supplies to or from Ukraine to import military weapons," the statement said.

Searches took place on March 17, 2025 at five sites at the request of the Prosecutor's office of the city of Oldenburg.

The suspects allegedly used humanitarian supplies to illegally import and export weapons. However, during the searches, only an air gun was found.

Law enforcement officers also found a lot of evidence, the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, on February 26, it was reported that several people were injured in a shooting outside a courthouse in the German city of Bielefeld. According to media reports, nine people were injured. Eyewitnesses said that they were lying on the ground. The police immediately began to assist the victims, ambulances arrived at the scene of the emergency.
