The Russian Ministry of Health plans to reduce the temporary disability rate to 15% by 2030. This was announced on March 21 by the head of the department Mikhail Murashko at a meeting of the Board of Rospotrebnadzor.

"Another indicator appears in the new national project, which you and I will implement together, is a reduction in the total duration of disability among employees," said the head of the Ministry of Health, quoted by TASS.

It is noted that in more than 70% of cases, employees drop out of the workflow due to infectious diseases. In this regard, according to the Minister, it is important to solve the problem of the length of sick leave and reduce the number of sick days by available measures, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".

The Ministry of Health will expand the monitoring system, investigating cases of morbidity and localization in order to make the indicator of temporary disability manageable, Murashko stressed.

In December last year, it was reported that the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation plans to change the procedure for the formation of sick leave from September 1, 2025. According to the updated regulations, the number of disability certificates issued to an individual citizen will be taken into account for the timely detection and prevention of serious diseases.
