A solemn event will be held within the framework of the IAF

On March 26, a solemn event dedicated to the 90th Holiday of the North and the 65th Holiday of the North of Students will be held at the Central Stadium of Trade Unions of the city of Murmansk. It is part of the sports program of the VI International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the territory of dialogue", which will be held on March 26-27 under the motto "Live in the North!". The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"The Polar Olympics is the heart and soul of the North, a symbol of perseverance, unity and unyielding fortitude. Even in the most difficult times, during the Great Patriotic War, she was not stopped – athletes went to the front right from the start, writing not only records, but also feats into the history of the region. In honor of the anniversary, we have prepared a large–scale celebration - a tribute to the heroes of the past, support for those who glorify the North today, and a vivid symbol of future victories. This is not just a sporting event – it is our history, our pride and our inspiration. The Polar Olympiad will light its anniversary flame brightly!", announced the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis.

The program will include three semantic episodes symbolizing the past, present and future of the Holiday of the North. Its purpose is to show the rich sports traditions of the region. Residents and guests will see fragments of past ceremonies, greet sports veterans and participants of 2025, and use artificial intelligence to look into tomorrow.

The ethnic fusion show and folk music will take the viewer back to a time when residents celebrated the arrival of spring with a big celebration, which later formed the basis of the modern Polar Olympiad, and introduce them to the history of multinational Russia and the traditions of the indigenous peoples of the North. In the episode dedicated to the present, guests will see the heroes of our days, participants of the 90th Festival of the North, as well as a parade of sports. In the third part of the program, the audience will be shown the equipment of athletes of the future, generated by a neural network. A futuristic neon show will accompany the show.

The highlight of the holiday will traditionally be the lighting of the fire of the Polar Olympiad. The guests will also get acquainted with digital sports, see an extreme performance of motorcycle freestyle riders and a bright flag show. The program starts at 20.00. The entrance to the stadium will be open from 19.00.

The closing ceremony of the Polar Olympiad will take place on April 12. As in previous years, it will traditionally bring together all participants of the competition.

Media accreditation is open for work at the solemn event on March 26. Applications are accepted until March 24 inclusive. The form is available via the link.
