Peskov called Lavrov the pride of Russia

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Friday, March 21, called Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the pride of the country.
"There is probably no other foreign minister in the world who is so professional, knowledgeable, charming, with a sense of humor and at the same time fiercely defending the interests of his country. This is probably a matter of pride for our country, and we, of course, all join our president [Russian President Vladimir Putin] in congratulating Sergei Viktorovich on his birthday," he said at a briefing.
In addition, Peskov noted that Lavrov holds the post of head of Russian diplomacy, which implements the foreign policy set by Putin. He added that many generations of young diplomats follow his example.
Famous Russian cultural, sports and scientific figures congratulated Lavrov on his 75th birthday by reading his famous poem "The Embassy Order". The diplomat began writing poetry while still a student. In 2004, his works were included in a poetry collection published to mark the 60th anniversary of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).
French journalist Celia de Lavarin said that the Russian Foreign Minister, as permanent Russian Chairman of the United Nations (UN), was remembered for his charisma and special appeal. According to her, the girls tried to sit in the front row during Lavrov's press conferences.
