The British Navy is in decline and is not the strongest even in Europe. The threats of retired Royal Navy Rear Admiral Chris Perry are a bluff, rhetoric aimed at the British. This opinion was shared with Izvestia on March 21 by military analyst and political scientist Vadim Mingalev.

Chris Perry's corresponding statement was published yesterday in The Telegraph newspaper. According to him, one British nuclear submarine armed with Trident ballistic missiles is capable of "incinerating" 40 Russian cities.

"There's a saying that's not exactly subtle, but I'll say it: a good show-off is more expensive than money. One old submarine cannot destroy 40 cities. Such theses do not cause anything but laughter. There is an escalation of rhetoric now, in terms of the fact that Europe, Britain and France in particular, will allegedly be able to force Russia to sign the necessary peace agreements for them and Ukraine," Mingalev commented.

So, he stressed, such statements are addressed specifically to British voters in order to show them that "the English lion is still strong." The interlocutor of the publication noted that the UK wants to lead European countries in the political arena, while France and Germany claim the same thing.

"The British navy is in a deplorable state. Moreover, the submarine fleet cannot conduct missile attacks on its own, because all this happens through the United command through the United States. In addition, not all British submarines are ready for combat operations, not to mention surface operations, as the necessary repairs have not been carried out for a long time. I can say with confidence that the British Navy is not ready for a conflict with the Russian Federation," the expert said.

However, he added, the UK has nuclear weapons, so Russia should always be on the lookout.

Earlier, on December 28, the Daily Mail newspaper reported that hazing, rape and the use of illegal substances are rampant on board the Royal Submarine Navy of Great Britain. According to the newspaper, on one of the underwater vessels, the staff keeps a list with crew members who will be raped first of all in the event of an unforeseen disaster at sea.

Prior to that, on November 16, The Times newspaper, citing a source, reported that the British aircraft carriers Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales, worth £6.2 billion ($8.02 billion), were vulnerable to potential enemy anti-ship missiles.
