The Investigative Committee (IC) of Primorsky Krai has opened a criminal case into a fire caused by uncontrolled burning of dry vegetation in the village of Avangard. This was announced on March 21 in the press service of the department.
"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee for the Primorsky Territory have opened a criminal case into the fire of an apartment building and outbuildings due to uncontrolled burning of dry vegetation (Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the Investigative Committee wrote on its Telegram channel.
According to the investigation, on March 20, the lands of the municipality, the forest fund and other categories caught fire in the village. The fire spread to residential and outbuildings, and also caused damage to wildlife and their habitat.
"Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident and the persons whose negligence caused such consequences," the department said.
A large-scale fire broke out in Primorye on March 20: dry vegetation caught fire on an area of 3 thousand square meters. m. As a result, an apartment building was destroyed, and two more country houses were damaged. The fire was later extinguished.
