The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has completed the investigation of a criminal case against the commander of the missile brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Rostislav Karpushi (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist), who ordered the shelling of a beach in Sevastopol. This was announced on March 21 by the press service of the department.

"In one of these criminal cases, the investigation has been completed — charges have been brought in absentia against Rostislav Karpusha, commander of the 19th Missile Brigade of the Volga Federal University," the report says.

According to the investigation, on June 23 last year, Karpusha ordered his subordinates to shell a beach on the Black Sea coast in Sevastopol. As a result of the attack, civilians were killed, including two children, and 129 more people were injured.

The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that Karpusha was put on the international wanted list, and he was arrested in absentia.

On March 16, the department opened a criminal case on a terrorist act on the fact of looting and killing civilians in the Kursk region by the VFU. It has been established that Ukrainian militants looted property and killed three civilians in the village of Kazachya Loknya, Sudzha district, no later than February of this year.
