The media reported on the confiscation of the tanker Eventin by the German customs

German customs seized the tanker Eventin, which had previously lost control, along with almost 100 thousand tons of oil on board. This was reported by the newspaper Spiegel on March 21.
Initially, the tanker was heading north from the island of Ryugen. Due to the threat of an oil leak, it was towed into the waters off the town of Sassnitz and monitored by the Coast Guard and the federal police.
According to the newspaper, the German government, before making a decision on confiscation, held active negotiations on what to do next with this vessel. Oil worth €40 million is now being transferred to German ownership.
Earlier, on January 10, a Panamanian-flagged tanker carrying 99,000 tons of oil was discovered off the coast of Germany in the Baltic Sea. It was noted that the evacuation of the crew was not required. A reconnaissance aircraft was sent to the area of the ship's drift.
