The FSB detained the organizers of drug laboratories in the Vladimir and Smolensk regions

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has detained in the Vladimir and Smolensk regions the organizers of clandestine laboratories for the production of synthetic drugs, which were sold via the Internet. This was announced on March 21 at the department's Public Relations Center.

During the searches, law enforcement officers found a synthetic narcotic drug weighing more than 55 kg and at least 450 liters of narcotic liquid in a resident of the Vladimir region. At the same time, the same synthetic substance weighing more than 224 kg, at least 11 tons of narcotic liquid, as well as a hunting carbine converted to combat, 190 cartridges, a Makarov pistol and 109 cartridges were seized from a man from the Smolensk region.

"During the searches, funds in the amount of over 30 million rubles were seized, including those stored in a crypto wallet, obtained from drug trafficking," the agency said in a statement.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated on this fact under Part 5 of Article 228.1 ("Production of narcotic drugs on an especially large scale"). The detainees were given a preventive measure in the form of detention. The defendants face life imprisonment.

On March 19, Sheremetyevo Customs officers found five buckets of tetrahydrocannabinol disguised as plant extracts that arrived on a flight from Istanbul. Law enforcement officers conducted searches in the suspect's apartment and found 3 kg of drugs, as well as 2 kg of prohibited substances in the warehouse. A criminal case was opened against him.
