- The "Coalition of the Willing" has abandoned the idea of deploying ground forces in Ukraine

The countries of the so-called "coalition of the willing" have decided to abandon the idea of sending ground forces to Ukraine and now want to focus on ensuring air and sea security for Kiev. This was reported on March 20 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.
"The political momentum that we have created is embodied here in military and operational planning and is widely distributed across various areas. <...> So, in one case we are looking at the sea, in the other case we are looking at the sky, obviously land and borders, as well as reconstruction," British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said.
He also stressed that the coalition should not fully take over the defense of Ukraine, but only partially help Kiev in solving this problem.
At the same time, Jack Watling, a senior researcher at the Joint Royal Institute for Security and Defense Studies, noted that such a step could be due to the lack of opportunities for the UK to deploy a large number of military personnel on the territory of Ukraine.
On March 20, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a summit of the "coalition of the willing" with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on March 27. Earlier, on March 16, The Telegraph newspaper reported that the so-called coalition of the willing, consisting of Western countries, could not come to an agreement on sending troops to Ukraine after a possible settlement of the conflict. According to the newspaper, the allied group has not yet reached a specific agreement on peacekeeping forces on Ukrainian territory.
