At a meeting at the permanent joint headquarters, the United Kingdom discussed sending Typhoon fighters to Ukraine to provide air cover. This was reported on March 20 by The Telegraph newspaper.

According to the source, British air cover was discussed at the meeting, in case British soldiers go to Ukraine and "there is a need for air cover."

"We would never have sent British troops to the ground without providing them with air cover," the source said.

He also said that the Royal Air Force could provide either Typhoon or F-35 fighter jets for air patrols.

Earlier, on March 16, The Telegraph newspaper reported that the so-called coalition of the willing, consisting of Western countries, could not come to an agreement on sending troops to Ukraine after a possible settlement of the conflict. According to the newspaper, the allied group has not yet reached a specific agreement on peacekeeping forces on Ukrainian territory.
