The idea of the European Union (EU) to achieve peace through force resembles a joke. This was announced on March 20 by Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna.

He condemned the bellicose statements and threats of the EU to take risky actions.

"This is reminiscent of a Soviet joke: and there will be such a struggle for peace that no stone will be left unturned," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

On March 14, Euractiv announced that the European Union (EU) intends to create a voluntary fund for military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €20-40 billion to circumvent Hungary's veto. It was specified that each country would contribute to the fund depending on its "economic weight." At the same time, the EU will consider as its contribution €1.9 billion of profits from frozen Russian assets.
