- Starmer pointed to the clarification of the timing of the deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine.

The timing of the deployment of European peacekeepers in Ukraine is becoming increasingly clear after negotiations between the United States and Russia. This was stated on March 20 by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in an interview with the British television channel ITV.
"The schedule is becoming clearer. <...> If a deal is reached, we must be ready," he said.
In addition, the prime minister spoke about the meeting of the military of Western countries in the UK on the same day. As indicated by "Газета.ги "Its topic will be the planning of peacekeeping operations in Ukraine with an emphasis on security in the air and at sea.
"We are moving from concepts to military plans, and this is an important step," Starmer stressed.
Yulia Zhdanova, acting head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, said yesterday that the deployment of foreign military forces on Ukrainian territory, including peacekeepers, would be considered as a direct involvement of these countries in the conflict.
The Times newspaper reported on March 16 that Ukraine's allies want to send over 10,000 peacekeepers to the country. Unnamed senior sources in the British government said that Starmer had secured the support of a significant number of states willing to provide ground troops.
Later, on March 19, French President Emmanuel Macron said that European states could send their military contingent to Ukraine and deploy it, in particular, in Kiev, Lviv and Odessa.
