Putin congratulates Kirsty Coventry on her election as President of the IOC

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Zimbabwean Kirsty Coventry on her election as President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The corresponding telegram was published on March 20 on the Kremlin's website.

"Please accept my sincere congratulations on your election as President of the International Olympic Committee. The results of the voting are convincing evidence of your high authority in the sports world and the recognition of your outstanding personal achievements," the Head of state noted.
