- The political scientist predicted the defeat of Ukraine without the help of the United States within two weeks

Alexey Podberezkin, head of the MGIMO Center for Military and Political Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, said that Ukraine would last two weeks without the help of the United States.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, March 20, the political scientist noted that it is still impossible to predict further steps to resolve the conflict. At the moment, according to him, the negotiating positions are "extremely polar."
"Everything is really decided on the battlefield. Ukraine has resources left for a month or two, but not for victory, of course, not even for long—term resistance, but for protection, for defense, even with some attempts to launch a counteroffensive," Podberezkin explained.
He pointed out that much now depends on the United States. If they stop supporting them, then even with the condition of European assistance, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will last no more than two or three weeks, since they "critically depend on the United States" for some types of weapons and certain types of military activities.
Earlier on March 20, Bloomberg, citing a senior representative of one of the leading EU countries, reported that the European Union would under no circumstances comply with Russia's demands to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. According to the publication, the EU plans to increase defense spending in an attempt to strengthen its role in negotiations on Ukraine, Regnum news agency notes.
EU leaders are also planning a meeting in Brussels to discuss the current situation.
On March 19, the European Commission (EC) presented the EU's militarization plan, which includes a long-term strategy for arming Ukraine. It is designed until 2030, the website clarifies. kp.ru .
On March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed in detail the options for resolving the Ukrainian crisis by phone on March 18. According to Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, the leaders of the countries did not discuss the involvement of the EU in negotiations on this issue.
On March 14, Pavel Feldman, a professor at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, Candidate of Political Sciences, expressed the opinion in an interview with RT that the United Kingdom and EU countries are interested in continuing hostilities at least until 2029. By this time, the Europeans plan to carry out a large-scale rearmament program and prepare for a direct clash with Russia.
