The Taste of the Arctic gastronomic festival will be held at IAF-2025

The Taste of the Arctic gastronomic festival will be held in Murmansk on March 25-30. It is included in the cultural program of the International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the territory of dialogue" (IAF), which will be held on March 26-27 under the motto "Live in the North!". The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Government.

A joint team of restaurateurs and chefs from the subjects of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation will present a menu of regional authentic cuisine, which uses products from the northern seas and local producers.

"This festival will be special, as we are expanding the geography of participants in the gastronomic space. Entrepreneurs from the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk Regions, the Nenets and Chukotka Autonomous Districts, the Komi Republic, the Republic of Karelia, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) have already confirmed their participation. The festival menu will feature both favorite items with hits from Arctic cuisine festivals and absolute novelties," said Svetlana Panfilova, Deputy Governor and Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region.

About 15 food companies from the regions of the Arctic zone will take part in the gastronomic festival, in addition, a souvenir fair of the Murmansk region and an ice bar "Taste the North" will be opened.

"The Murmansk region has given Russia such an area as Arctic cuisine. We have gone from complete obscurity to commercial success, thanks to powerful information support with the participation of local businesses and authorities," said Ekaterina Shapovalova, methodologist and head of the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia", curator of the Taste of the Arctic gastronomic festival.

The office of the Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk Region will operate as part of the festival, where residents and visitors of the city will be able to learn about popular tourist programs and purchase a polar explorer's passport. An Arctic post office will be organized at the festival, where everyone will be able to send exclusive commemorative postcards to their loved ones.

Entertainment and music programs, prize draws are waiting for the guests of the festival. On March 25, the site on Vorovsky Street will be open from 15:00 to 21:00, and on March 26-30 from 11:00 to 21:00.

The festival is organized by the Government of the Murmansk Region in cooperation with the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia". The project coordinator is ANO "Event51".

The Taste of the Arctic Gastronomic Festival has been held since 2018. The event is held in the one-hand-food format, it is aimed at drawing attention to local cuisine, food from regional producers and wild plants of the Arctic.

Every year, the festival receives awards at the federal level, including the Grand Prix of the National Award in the field of public Relations "Silver Archer" - Northwest (2023), the Grand Prix of the National Award in the field of event tourism Russian Event Awards (2022), the top 17 best summer gastronomic events (2022) and many others.

The VI International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue" is a key platform for discussing topical issues of socio-economic development of the Arctic territories, developing multi-level multilateral mechanisms for joint disclosure and effective development of the powerful resource potential of the Arctic region.
