The auto expert explained the reason for fogging the headlights from the inside

Fogging of a car headlight indicates a violation of the tightness of the part, which affects its durability, leads to a deterioration in the quality of lighting and reduced visibility, as well as increases the risk of corrosion of the reflector and oxidation of the contacts of electrical connections. Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of Fit Service car services, told this, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on March 20.

The tightness of the headlight may be compromised due to cracks in the housing or glass itself, deformation or wear of the sealing rubber bands. Even small cracks and chips can lead to the penetration of water into the part, the expert noted.

The headlight can also fog up due to severe temperature fluctuations outside and inside, as the warm air inside the device can condense when the part cools. Also, moisture inside the headlights can get after its poor-quality repair. The expert called clogging of ventilation ducts another reason for fogging.

In case of slight fogging, the specialist advised to dry the part with a stream of warm air using a conventional hair dryer (at a low temperature and distance) or leave the car in the sun for several hours.

On March 11, auto expert Alexander Sosnovsky said that installing a fake or low-quality oil filter in a car could lead to contamination and increased wear of the internal combustion engine. The fake filter has a low-quality filter element, which will clog before the deadline set by the manufacturer and will pass oil with particles of contamination directly into the engine, the specialist explained.
