- The expert spoke about the ways of admission to the university without the Unified State Exam

For many, admission to a university is associated with the mandatory passing of the Unified State Exam (USE). However, there are categories of graduates who can enroll in a university without it. Admissions committees will start working very soon. Roman Sherenkov, a methodologist for history and social studies at Online School No. 1, told Izvestia on March 22.
According to him, people with disabilities, applicants with a diploma of secondary vocational education (SPE), school graduates who completed their studies before January 1, 2009, foreigners and applicants with an existing diploma of higher education can enter the university without the Unified State Exam. You can also enter a university without using the Unified State Exam based on participation in Olympiads and competitions.
"For example, several Russian universities accept the results of the Lomonosov Interuniversity Olympiad from Moscow State University and the Future of Siberia Olympiad from NSTU. There are also general Olympiads, the results of which are appreciated in many universities, for example, ORMO or VSOS. Some universities, if a participant wins in specialized Olympiads, immediately give up to 100 points upon admission," Sherenkov said.
It is also worth paying attention to the contests. In addition, achievements such as a gold medal at school, participation in the Olympic Games, passing the TRP standards and volunteering can give additional points.
"Entrance exams are held in different formats. Most often, this is written work on one or more school subjects. Sometimes the internal test takes the form of an interview or even physical exercises. It depends on the chosen specialty. Some educational institutions accept applicants only on the basis of a creative and/or professional orientation test," the expert added.
Sherenkov noted that there are several ways to prepare for university admission: to contact a tutor or take training courses, or independently.
On March 20, Olesya Mayerova, head of the educational department of the Unified State Exam Center school, told Izvestia about the strategy of preparing for the Unified State Exam, taking into account future specialization. According to her, the student's task is to focus on those subjects that will become "tickets" to the chosen specialty. The sooner you do this, the more likely you are to master the program at a high level. It is worth studying both theory and regular practical testing of USE assignments, the expert emphasized.
