- The media learned about the failure of NASA to pay overtime to astronauts stuck on the ISS

The US National Aerospace Administration for Aeronautics and Space Exploration (NASA) has not paid overtime to astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who are stuck on the International Space Station (ISS) due to a malfunction of the spacecraft. This was reported by The New York Times on March 20.
Jimi Russell, a spokesman for the Office of Space Operations, noted that the costs of transportation, food and accommodation for astronauts in space are covered. In addition, they receive a daily allowance instead of reimbursing travel expenses.
"According to Mr. Russell, the contingency allowance for travel to any location is $5 per day," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, in addition to their annual salaries, Wilmore and Williams earned about $1,430 for 286 days spent in space.
On March 19, the Crew Dragon Freedom spacecraft successfully landed off the coast of Florida. In addition to Wilmore and Ulyam, Alexander Gorbunov and Nick Hague returned to the castle. Williams and Wilmore arrived at the ISS on June 6 last year. It was planned that the astronauts would evaluate the capabilities of the Starline capsule and return home in no more than 10 days, however, due to a number of technical problems and concerns, they remained on board the space station instead of other astronauts.
