Narcologist Vasily Shurov called severe shortness of breath, weakness and chills possible symptoms of the "popcorn disease" of EVALI vapers.

In conversation with aif.ru On Thursday, March 20, a specialist noted that a person with this disease may experience nausea, abdominal pain, headaches, and palpitations.

EVALI manifests itself in the form of inflammation, scarring and narrowing of the bronchioles. According to Shurov, the disease is amenable to timely treatment, but the patient may develop respiratory failure, pulmonary emphysema or bronchiectasis in the future.

The day before, Shurov noted that young people under the age of 20 are most susceptible to the new EVALI vaper disease. According to him, vaping is a hobby of the young and their lungs are more immature.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor reported that the first case of EVALI vaping disease was recorded in Tomsk. The disease was detected in one of the teenagers. Another was diagnosed with the "toxic effects of smoking mixtures on the central nervous system," notes 360.ru .
