Boris Dombek, a serviceman of the 41st separate mechanized brigade of the Armed forces of Ukraine (VFU), was sentenced to 16 years in prison for obstructing the evacuation of people in the Korenevsky district of the Kursk region. This was reported on March 20 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

According to the investigation, in September 2024, the accused, as part of the VFU units, illegally crossed the border of the Russian Federation. In the village of Zhuravlya, Dombek prevented the evacuation of the civilian population, threatening with weapons, occupied private houses and repeatedly opened fire to kill.

"The verdict of the court sentenced Dombey to imprisonment for a term of 16 years with serving the first four years in prison, and the rest in a high—security penal colony," the department's Telegram channel says.

In September 2024, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation detained Dombek.

Earlier, on March 16, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on a terrorist act in connection with the looting and murder of civilians in the Kursk region of the UFA. It has been established that Ukrainian militants were engaged in looting and committed the murder of three civilians in the village of Kazachya Loknya, Sudzha district, no later than February of this year.
