More than 4.5 thousand units of equipment will be purchased for the buildings of the Kursk NPP-2 power units

More than 4.5 thousand units of equipment will be purchased for the buildings where power units No. 3 and No. 4 of Kursk NPP-2 will be located. This was announced on March 20 by Alexander Khazin, Advisor to the President of Atomstroyexport JSC.

"The list of the main equipment of power units Nº3 and Nº4 of Kursk NPP-2 has been approved. The document allows us to start forming schedules for annual equipment contracts," TASS quoted Khazin as saying.

The list includes more than 4.5 thousand pieces of equipment, including equipment for the main and auxiliary buildings of reactors, machine halls, block pumping stations and other facilities of the power unit launch complexes.

Earlier on March 20, the mayor of Kurchatov, Igor Korpunkov, said that additional security measures had been put in place around the Kursk nuclear power plant and in the city where it is located, as the situation in the region continues to be difficult. Among the additional security measures previously taken, Korpunkov listed the creation of checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the city.
