A resident of Berdyansk was sentenced to 14 years in prison for treason


The Zaporizhia Regional Court sentenced a 47-year-old resident of Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region, to 14 years in prison for high treason, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea reported on March 20.
The investigation revealed that the accused collaborated with representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine from August 2022 to September 2023. He provided the supervisor with information about the locations and movements of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (RF Armed Forces) in Berdyansk, which he received, among other things, from his classmate, with whom he reconnected.
"The court sentenced the man to 14 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high—security penal colony with subsequent restriction of liberty for a period of one year," the report says.
Earlier, on December 9, the Supreme Court of Crimea sentenced a 33-year-old resident of Simferopol district, found guilty of treason, to 15 years in prison. According to the investigation, from December 2022 to March 2023, the man collected and transmitted in a messenger information about the movement of the Russian army along the Tavrida highway, as well as about a military facility under construction to representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
