A massive UAV attack on the Saratov region. What is known
On Thursday, March 20, the Saratov region was subjected to a massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In total, 54 drones were eliminated over the territory of the region. UAV attack on Engels and Saratov — what happened
Early in the morning on March 20, the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, announced in his Telegram channel about the threat of UAVs in the region. Local warning systems were turned on, and emergency services were put on alert.
It later became known that as a result of the drone attack in the city of Engels, windows in two kindergartens and a school were partially blown out. There were no children in the facilities at that moment, and no one was injured among the staff. The students were transferred to a distance learning mode.
As a result of the attack by Ukrainian drones, Engels City Clinical Hospital No. 1 was also damaged. Windows were blown out in the medical facility. A woman was injured and is being helped.
In his Telegram channel, Busargin called the last UAV attack on the Saratov region "the most massive of all time." According to the Ministry of Defense, 54 drones were shot down over the territory of the region. About 30 private and country houses in several farming co-ops were damaged. Due to a fire at the airfield, the evacuation of residents of the garden plots adjacent to the facility has been announced.
A municipal-level emergency regime has been introduced in the Engels district of the Saratov region. The Investigative Committee of Russia (IC) has launched an investigation into the attack of Ukrainian UAVs on the region. The agency will establish the details of what happened and give a legal assessment of the actions of all those involved.
