Finnish President Alexander Stubb, calling for "arming Ukraine to the teeth," does not understand what he is talking about. The militarization of Ukraine is a mistake that caused the conflict. This was announced on March 20 by State Duma Deputy Maxim Ivanov.

"Stubb is so dumb that he doesn't know what he's talking about...> Pumping weapons into Ukraine is a mistake by the United States, which has led to, well, let's just say, negative consequences. <...> If the Americans already understand this, then the Finns probably need to know for a long time," Duma TV quoted Ivanov as saying for Izvestia.

He also stressed that the special military operation began due to the fact that Ukraine considered itself a country that could ignore international agreements, including the Minsk agreements, building up its military power.

In addition, the MP suggested that Finland will change its rhetoric on the Ukrainian issue, since the whole world is already changing against the background of the dialogue between the Russian Federation and the United States. So, the politician added, Stubb's statement is no longer relevant.

Earlier, on March 17, the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, said that the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) countries had not agreed on assistance to Ukraine for € 40 billion. In turn, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest did not support the proposal to provide further military assistance to Kiev, including a package worth €20 billion.

Prior to that, on March 14, it was reported that the EU intends to create a voluntary fund for military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €20-40 billion to circumvent Hungary's veto. Each country will contribute to the fund depending on its "economic weight". The European Union itself will consider as its contribution €1.9 billion of profits from frozen Russian assets.
