In the new set of rules (JV "Constructions of combined frames using metal, wood and reinforced concrete. Design Rules"), approved by the Russian Ministry of Construction, established requirements for the design of load-bearing structures of combined frames made of metal, wood and reinforced concrete, the ministry's press service said on March 20.

"The use of combined frames is an opportunity to obtain the optimal combination of strength, cost, installation speed and architectural flexibility. The new set of rules will improve the efficiency of design decisions and ensure a reasonable balance between technical requirements and economic efficiency, which will be given special attention as part of the implementation of the new national project "Infrastructure for Life," the press service quoted Sergey Muzychenko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation.

The document establishes general design requirements, classification of buildings from combined structures using metal, wood and reinforced concrete, basic provisions and requirements for calculations of structural elements, as well as requirements for structures and nodal joints.

"The set of rules is aimed at expanding the possibilities of using new design solutions and improving the technical characteristics of buildings, since, depending on the conditions of construction and operation, combined frames can be stronger, lighter, more reliable, and more durable than frames made of the same material," said Andrey Kopytin, director of the FAA "FTS".

Earlier, on March 18, the Ministry of Construction approved a basic set of rules in construction. Thus, an integrated structure of standardization documents in the construction complex has been formed, which simultaneously takes into account all related rationing systems.
