Monuments to be repaired in Khanty-Mansiysk for Victory Day

A "general cleaning" of urban facilities will be carried out in Khanty-Mansiysk on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The work will be completed by the end of April, Maxim Ryashin, the head of the district capital, said during a meeting of the regional committee for preparations for the celebration on May 9.
"We will separately carry out cosmetic repairs, landscaping of Victory Park and other monuments dedicated to the heroes and events of the Great Patriotic War," the mayor wrote in his Telegram, quoted by the news agency " <url>".
As Ryashin noted, the city's bus stops will also be repaired by Victory Day, and all buses and minibuses will be transformed. On the instructions of the head of the region, a copy of the Victory Banner will be installed on the administration building.
In 2025, May 9 marks the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. In January 1945, the Soviet army launched an offensive against Berlin. As a result of the fighting, at 0:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed the act of unconditional surrender of Germany, which served as the end of the war.
On the occasion of the anniversary, Izvestia launched a special project "80 days to Victory." It publishes articles from Izvestia during the war, the full list of which can be found in the electronic archive.
