The average bill of Russians in restaurants and cafes increased by 13%

From January 1 to March 15, the average check of Russians in restaurants, cafes and fast food outlets reached 1.3 thousand rubles, which is 13% more than last year. This is evidenced by the statistics of the analytical resource "Check Index", which I reviewed on March 20. "Газета.Ru ".
According to him, in restaurants and bars over the year, the average check increased by 12%, to 2.1 thousand rubles, in cafes and canteens — by 11%, to 781 rubles, in fast food outlets — by 14%, to 512 rubles. In the first quarter of 2025, the catering industry became weather-dependent. On warm and clear days of winter, Russians chose to walk and have snacks outside.
"The restaurant industry is experiencing a decline in sales against the background of the high base of last year, when many preferred warm rooms due to the January frosts," the experts concluded.
Experts attributed the growing demand for food outside the home to the development of online ordering, increased business activity, domestic tourism and an increase in real disposable incomes of Russians.
Earlier, on February 7, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russians' real incomes had increased by 8.4% over the year. He added that real wages had increased by 8.7% in 11 months. Mishustin explained that inflation had failed to reduce household incomes.
