The doctor spoke about the dangers of popular acne creams

Creams with benzoyl peroxide for acne can be dangerous if stored or used improperly. This was announced on Thursday, March 20, by Vladislav Sepp, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacy at the Institute of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry at Pirogov University.
"The decomposition products of benzoyl peroxide pose a danger to human health. At high temperatures, under the influence of UV radiation (for example, direct exposure to sunlight) this substance can release benzene or active radicals <...> But in the case of excessive release of active radicals, skin damage may occur," Sepp said in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».
Contact with benzene, which is carcinogenic and quite toxic, even in microdoses is highly undesirable for humans. Separately, Sepp stressed that it is better to choose funds together with doctors.
On March 11, doctor Mikhailova spoke about the causes and ways to prevent age spots in the spring. She advised people with a tendency to hyperpigmentation to apply a cream with SPF 50+ at any time of the year, as even in winter, ultraviolet light reflected from snow can exacerbate the problem. In the spring, the specialist recommended using cosmetics with skin-lightening ingredients. Retinoic peels, for example, do a good job of this.
