President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has agreed to a proposal for a mutual cessation of strikes on energy facilities as a first step towards ending the armed conflict. This was reported by Bloomberg on March 19.

"One of the first steps towards a complete end to the conflict may be to stop attacks on energy and other civilian infrastructure," Zelensky announced on the X network (ex. Twitter).

He noted that he supports this step and Ukraine is "ready to implement it."

Earlier on March 19, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out a deliberate drone attack on an energy facility in the village of Kavkazskaya in the Krasnodar Territory after the Russian leader agreed with the idea of the US president to abandon attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. After the attack, a fire broke out at the facility. As a result, the pipeline was damaged. By evening, the fire area exceeded 4.2 thousand square meters. m. 357 people and 140 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. No one was injured.
