By the end of 2025, more than 50% of trains will be upgraded on the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, March 19, by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.
He specified that by the end of the year, about 45 of the most modern Russian trains of the Moscow-2024 train will run along the line.
"Today, the green line is one of the most sought—after. More than 800,000 trips are made on it every day," Liksutov was quoted as saying by the Moscow City News agency.
The Moscow Metro is a world leader in terms of the pace of rolling stock renewal. In 2024, 36 Moscow-2024 trains, designed by Russian specialists, were accepted into the metro. In 2025, it is planned to receive 34 more trains that will go to Zamoskvoretskaya and new sections of the Troitskaya Line, Moscow 24 notes.
Since 2010, the number of modern railcars has increased almost sixfold. By 2030, the share of new trains in the metro will be about 90%, according to the website kp.ru .
On March 15, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that for the first time in 70 years, a new station, Dostoevskaya, would open on the Ring Line of the Moscow metro. Since the work is being carried out in the area of historical buildings, builders use special methods of tunnel construction.
