- Reuters has learned of Callas' intention to offer to provide Ukraine with 2 million shells.

The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, will propose to provide Ukraine with 2 million cartridges at the summit of the leaders of the European Union (EU), which will be held on Thursday, March 20. This was reported on March 19 by the Reuters news agency with reference to the letter.
Kallas insists that one part of the plan be agreed as a first step, writing in a letter to EU foreign and defense ministers that 2 million cartridges worth €5 billion "are available on the market and can be delivered in 2025," the agency reports.
According to Reuters, Callas intends to convince European leaders at a meeting of the European Council on the importance of providing Ukraine with two million large-caliber artillery ammunition.
Earlier in the day, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said that Britain and the European Union were negotiating to accelerate arms supplies to Ukraine ahead of a potential full ceasefire. He said that at a meeting in London with Callas, he discussed the possibility of sending additional military support to Kiev before any widespread cessation of hostilities was implemented.
