A plane carrying Russian military personnel released from captivity by the Armed Forces of Ukraine landed in Moscow on March 19.

175 captured servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, returned to their homeland, arrived in the capital, where they will receive all necessary medical and psychological assistance.

"Joy. Pride in the country. Thank you to Russia for not forgetting their soldiers. <...> I am at home!" — the liberated fighter of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the call sign Skobar shared his impressions.

As the soldier with the call sign Lucifer noted in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Leonid Klimenchuk, he spent more than a year in captivity and could not at first believe that he would soon be in his homeland.

"In one camp [of prisoners], [conditions] were somehow, in the other there were no conditions at all. High humidity, full of all kinds of diseases. It's psychologically difficult there," commented the released prisoner of war with the call sign Gus.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that 175 servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) had been returned from the territory controlled by Ukraine. In return, 175 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred. Moscow also handed over to Kiev 22 seriously wounded prisoners of war who need urgent treatment.
