The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), Vitaly Ignatiev, said that Pridnestrovie considers any form of militarization of Moldova dangerous. He said this on March 19 on the First Pridnestrovian TV channel.

"We consider any form of militarization of neighboring Moldova to be unacceptable and extremely dangerous, counterproductive, especially in terms of the supply of weapons, weapons, and military equipment," he said.

Ignatiev informed that a peacekeeping operation and monitoring of the security zone are being conducted on the banks of the Dniester.

The PMR's Foreign Minister also called the situation stable and controllable.

"Why should Moldova engage in militarization against the background of the fact that we have a guarantee mechanism that ensures peace?" Ignatiev added.

Earlier, on August 13, 2024, the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to the ongoing militarization of the republic and the holding of joint exercises with the contingents of NATO member countries. They drew attention to the fact that these actions contradict Moldova's constitutional status of permanent neutrality and its obligations under the CIS charter documents, such steps negatively affect the Transnistrian settlement process and undermine the security of Chisinau itself.
