US President Donald Trump has agreed to work with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky on his request to supply additional air defense systems to Kiev. This was announced on March 19 by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, citing a joint statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Assistant to the American leader for National Security Mike Waltz.

Zelensky requested additional supplies of air defense systems from the American leader, in particular, Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

"President Zelensky has requested additional air defense systems... in particular, Patriot systems, and President Trump has agreed to work with him on what is available, especially in Europe," Leavitt said during a regular briefing.

On the same day, Trump spoke about the results of a telephone conversation with Zelensky. According to him, it lasted about an hour.
