During a telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump agreed that the conflict in Ukraine should end in lasting peace. This was announced on March 19 at a briefing by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, the speech was broadcast on the website of the American administration.

"Both leaders agreed that this conflict must end in long—term peace, and also stressed the need to improve bilateral relations between the United States and Russia," the spokeswoman said.

According to her, the American leader intends to end the Ukrainian conflict forever.

"He is determined to put an end to it (the conflict. — Ed.) the end once and for all," Leavitt emphasized.

On the evening of March 18, Putin and Trump had a telephone conversation. During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could cooperate.
