Ukraine is not going to participate in any Western efforts to make peace with Russia. This was announced on March 19 by Austrian geopolitical analyst Patrick Poppel.

"Of course, this is completely understandable. I mean, it was clear from the very beginning that Ukraine would not participate in any Western efforts to conclude a truce. People in Ukraine have just been screwed for many years," Poppel said.

According to him, despite the fact that the United States and Russia are gradually coming to a mutual agreement, Ukraine is not doing this. And the expert called this behavior of Kiev absurd.

Poppel also noted that Western countries will continue to supply weapons and support Ukraine with financial assistance.

"Ukraine really believes that it can win a major conflict with Russia alone. This is quite absurd," the geopolitical analyst summed up.

A telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump took place on the evening of March 18. During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could cooperate.

After the Russian leader agreed with the idea of the US president to abandon attacks on energy infrastructure facilities, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out a deliberate drone attack on an energy facility in the village of Kavkazskaya in the Krasnodar Territory, resulting in a fire. It was later reported that the fire area at the oil depot had grown to 4,250 square meters.

Later on March 19, Trump held telephone talks with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. According to the American president, the conversation was "very good."
