The attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a Russian energy facility after the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, agreed to stop such attacks, indicates that Kiev does not want peace. This was stated by State Duma Deputy Yuri Shvytkin on Wednesday, March 19.

"Kiev is showing its true colors. The attacks on our infrastructure are provocative. Ukraine wanted to provoke us to retaliate in order to disrupt the negotiations that will take place in Saudi Arabia after the conversation between Putin and Trump," the politician said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The parliamentarian recalled that Putin spoke about the need to ensure effective control over compliance with the agreements, and stressed that Russia needs to be ready for any provocations from Ukraine.

"I can assume that negotiations are currently underway through political and diplomatic channels, consultations are taking place, information is being provided and some measures are being taken. But in any case, we need to be prepared for provocations that may occur in the event of a truce," Shvytkin said, adding that it was clear that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was not in the mood for it.

The telephone conversation between Putin and Trump took place on the evening of March 18. During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and discussed a wide range of areas in which the United States and Russia could cooperate.

After the Russian leader agreed with the idea of the US president to abandon attacks on energy infrastructure facilities, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out a deliberate drone attack on an energy facility in the village of Kavkazskaya in the Krasnodar Territory, RT reports. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian military neutralized seven attack drones aimed at Ukrainian energy facilities related to the military-industrial complex (MIC) in the Mykolaiv region.

On March 19, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was monitoring whether the Ukrainian side would listen to Putin and Trump's intention to resolve the conflict.

According to him, after the agreement of the heads of state on the topic of abandoning strikes on energy facilities for 30 days, the Russian leader gave the appropriate commands to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, but the Ukrainian side attempted to attack critical infrastructure facilities. 360.ru .
