- The Finnish Prosecutor's Office has filed an appeal against the verdict of the Russian Torden.

Finnish Deputy Prosecutor General Jukka Rappe has filed an appeal against the court's decision in the case of Russian citizen Vojislav Torden, who was accused of war crimes in Ukraine. This was reported on March 19 by the Yle television and radio company.
"The case of Vojislav Torden (Jan Petrovsky), convicted of war crimes, will be considered by the Court of Appeal," the article says.
According to TASS, the deputy prosecutor General expressed his dissatisfaction with the verdict, since Torden was sentenced to life imprisonment for only four crimes. The charge for the fifth crime was dismissed.
Law enforcement officers informed the Russian Embassy in Finland about Torden's detention at the request of Kiev on August 25, 2023. Later, the Russian Embassy in Finland reported that a Russian citizen had been detained by the Finnish border guard service on suspicion of violating Finnish migration laws.
Then, in early December 2024, prosecutors in Finland asked for Torden to be sentenced to life in prison for alleged war crimes in eastern Ukraine in 2014. Prosecutors have filed charges against him for five war crimes. On March 14, the court sentenced Torden to life in prison.
