In Hungary, the mayor of a city killed a cyclist.

The mayor of the city of Sighetuifalu in the central part of Hungary, Kara Taligas, killed a cyclist in a car, as a result of which a 47-year-old man died from his injuries. This was reported on March 19 by the Telex news portal.
According to the portal, the accident occurred on the evening of March 16. The cyclist had almost reached his village when he was hit by a car. The doctors who came to the rescue failed to save the victim, the publication says.
Police said Taligas was allegedly drunk, but the necessary tests have not yet been carried out.
"The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the Pest District Police Department with the involvement of experts as part of a criminal investigation," the portal quoted police officers as saying.
Taligas admits that he was involved in an accident, but at the same time he denies that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He will continue to work as mayor until the completion of the police investigation, the portal writes.
Last December, the New York Post reported that a taxi hit a group of pedestrians near a Macy's store in Manhattan on Christmas Day, injuring five people and one child. It was clarified that the taxi driver probably felt unwell and lost control of the car.
